Track 1: Call for Paper
Computer systems, architectures and platforms form the important infrastructure of the modern information systems. However, recent years have witnessed a rise in the numbers of cyber attacks which requires an integration of the cyber and physical layers of the computer platform and architecture. Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs), a new generation system, integrate computation, communication and control elements highly together to interact with physical world. Their use have penetrated a plethora of application domains from aerospace, automobile, industrial process control, to energy, health-care, manufacturing and transportation, where secure operation is one of the key concerns. Diverse motivations exist for taking an attack action on the CPSs, ranging in scope from economic reasons (e.g., reducing or not paying electricity charge) all the way to terrorism (e.g., threatening people by controlling electricity and other life-critical resources). The topic of this session is focused on the recent development in the security aspect of CPSs.
Topics include, but are not limited to, the following research directions and technologies:
- Advanced computer systems for security
- Intrusion detection systems
- Secure state estimation
- Resilient control theory
- Failure tolerance, identification and recovery
- Secure platform under cyber attack
- Game theory in CPS
- Cyber architecture: defense optimization
